So, what is pectines?
Pectin is a naturally occurring polysaccharide found in the cell walls of fruits and vegetables. It is a gelling agent widely used in the food industry to thicken and stabilize products like jams, jellies, and fruit fillings. Pectin is extracted by boiling fruit peels and pulp in water, then purifying and drying the resulting mixture. It is a versatile ingredient with a neutral flavor and can be used in both sweet and savory dishes. Pectin is also known for its health benefits, as it may help to reduce cholesterol levels and improve digestive function.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
