So, what is potassium tartrates?
Potassium tartrates, also known as cream of tartar, is a white crystalline powder that is commonly used as a leavening agent in baking. It is a natural byproduct of the winemaking process and is often found on the bottom of wine barrels. Potassium tartrates can also be used to stabilize whipped cream, prevent sugar from crystallizing, and reduce discoloration in boiled vegetables. This versatile ingredient has a slightly acidic taste and is an excellent source of potassium. It is commonly used in gluten-free baking as a substitute for baking powder.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
