So, what is pyridium compounds?
Pyridium compounds are a class of organic compounds that contain a pyridine ring. They are commonly used as food colorants to provide a yellow-orange to reddish-brown hue to various food products, such as cheese, butter, and margarine. Pyridium compounds are known for their stability, resistance to fading, and compatibility with other food additives. They are also used in the pharmaceutical industry as drugs for the treatment of urinary tract infections and as analgesics for the relief of pain and discomfort caused by urinary tract disorders. However, pyridium compounds are known to cause discoloration of urine and other bodily fluids, which may be mistaken for signs of a more serious medical condition.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
