So, what is sodium cetearyl sulfate?
Sodium cetearyl sulfate is a mild surfactant commonly used in personal care products and cosmetics as an emulsifier and foaming agent. It is a white, crystalline powder derived from natural fatty alcohols and sulfates, and is known for its ability to create a rich lather while effectively removing dirt and impurities from the skin and hair. Despite its sulfate content, sodium cetearyl sulfate is generally considered safe for use in beauty products, as it has a low risk of irritation and is not known to be carcinogenic or harmful to the environment.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
