So, what is quinces?
Quinces are a unique fruit that are commonly used in cooking, particularly in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. They have a yellow, pear-like shape with a tough, fuzzy skin that must be peeled before eating. The flesh is firm, tart, and aromatic, with a floral fragrance that intensifies when cooked. Quinces are high in pectin, making them ideal for making jams, jellies, and fruit pastes. They also pair well with savory dishes, such as roasted meats and stews, where their sweet-tart flavor adds depth and complexity to the dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
