So, what is d2?
"D2" is a food ingredient that is widely used as a source of vitamin D in fortified foods and supplements. It is a synthetic form of vitamin D2, also known as ergocalciferol, which is derived from plant sources such as mushrooms and yeast. D2 is essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth, as it helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus. It is commonly added to foods such as milk, orange juice, and cereal to increase their nutritional value. D2 is also available in supplement form, and is often recommended for individuals who do not get enough vitamin D from their diet or sun exposure.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
