So, what is rice flakes?
Rice flakes, also known as flattened rice or poha, are a popular ingredient in many South Asian cuisines. Made by parboiling rice, then flattening and drying it to produce delicate, paper-thin flakes, rice flakes have a light, airy texture and a mild, nutty flavor. They are commonly used to make breakfast dishes such as poha, a savory dish made with onions, peas, and spices, as well as sweet dishes like rice flakes pudding. Rice flakes are also gluten-free and low in fat, making them a healthy addition to your diet.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
