So, what is wool waalcohols?
Wool alcohols, also known as lanolin alcohols, are a naturally occurring mixture of cholesterol and fatty alcohols that are derived from the wool of sheep. These alcohols are often used in cosmetic and personal care products, such as lotions, lip balms, and shampoos, due to their excellent moisturizing and emollient properties. Wool alcohols are also used as a base for ointments and creams in the pharmaceutical industry. These versatile compounds are non-toxic and hypoallergenic, making them a popular choice for use in a wide range of applications. Wool alcohols are typically white or pale yellow in color and have a waxy texture, and their melting point varies depending on the composition of the mixture.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
