So, what is yogurt ferments?
Yogurt ferments are live bacterial cultures that are used to make yogurt. These beneficial microorganisms play a crucial role in the fermentation process, which transforms milk into a tangy, creamy yogurt. The most commonly used strains of bacteria in yogurt ferments are Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, which work together to break down lactose, the natural sugar found in milk, and produce lactic acid. This acid gives yogurt its characteristic tangy flavor and thick, creamy texture. Yogurt ferments are not only essential for making yogurt, but they also offer numerous health benefits, including aiding digestion and boosting the immune system.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
