So, what is acciughe?
Acciughe, also known as anchovies, are small, saltwater fish that are commonly used in Mediterranean cuisine. With a distinct salty, umami flavor, acciughe are often used to add depth to dishes such as pizzas, pasta sauces, salads, and spreads. These little fish are typically preserved in oil or salt, which enhances their flavor and texture. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and various vitamins and minerals, acciughe offer both taste and nutritional benefits. However, due to their strong flavor, they may not be suitable for everyone's palate.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
