So, what is aceite hidrogenado?
Aceite hidrogenado, or hydrogenated oil in English, is a type of oil that has undergone a process called hydrogenation. During this process, unsaturated fats are converted into saturated fats, which results in a more stable and solid fat that has a longer shelf life. Aceite hidrogenado is commonly used in processed foods, such as baked goods, fried foods, and snack foods, as well as in margarine and other spreads. However, consuming large amounts of this type of oil has been linked to increased risk of heart disease and other health problems, so it is important to consume it in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
