So, what is àcid ascorbic?
Acid ascorbic, also known as Vitamin C, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in the body's immune system. It is commonly used as an antioxidant in food preservation, preventing the oxidation of fats and oils, and maintaining the vibrant color of fruits and vegetables. This ingredient is essential for collagen production, which aids in skin health and wound healing. Additionally, it helps the body absorb iron from plant-based foods and promotes iron absorption. Acid ascorbic is commonly found in citrus fruits, berries, kiwi, mango, pineapple, papaya, and leafy greens.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
