So, what is malic acid?
Malic acid is a naturally occurring, water-soluble compound found in many fruits, particularly apples. It has a sour taste, similar to that of citric acid, and is commonly used as a flavor enhancer and preservative in the food industry. Malic acid is also a key component in the process of converting glucose into energy in the body's cells. It can be found in many health supplements and sports drinks as an energy booster. Additionally, malic acid has been shown to have potential health benefits, including reducing inflammation and improving digestion.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
