So, what is acido benzoico?
Acido benzoico, also known as benzoic acid, is a white crystalline powder that is commonly used as a food preservative due to its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. It has a slightly bitter taste and is soluble in water and alcohol. Acido benzoico can be found naturally in some fruits, such as cranberries and prunes, but is more commonly produced synthetically for use in the food industry. While it is generally considered safe for consumption in small amounts, excessive intake can have harmful effects on health, including kidney damage and allergic reactions.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
