So, what is almidon-modificado?
Almidon-modificado, also known as modified starch, is a food ingredient that has been chemically or physically altered to improve its functional properties. It is commonly used in the food industry as a thickening agent, stabilizer, and emulsifier. Modified starch can be derived from a variety of sources, including corn, potato, tapioca, and wheat. It can withstand high temperatures and acidic conditions, making it ideal for use in processed foods such as soups, sauces, and baked goods. Additionally, modified starch is often used as a substitute for fat, which can help reduce the calorie content of certain foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
