So, what is anise?
Anise is a unique spice known for its sweet and licorice-like flavor. It comes from the flowering plant Pimpinella anisum and is commonly used in a variety of dishes, such as breads, desserts, and alcoholic beverages. Anise has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties, including its ability to aid digestion, reduce bloating and gas, and soothe coughs and sore throats. Anise is also a rich source of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. Whether used for cooking or for its health benefits, anise adds a distinctive and flavorful twist to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
