So, what is salz?
Salz is a German word for "salt," which is a naturally occurring mineral composed primarily of sodium chloride. It is an essential ingredient used in food preparation, not only for its flavor-enhancing properties but also for its ability to preserve food. Salt is harvested from salt mines or obtained from seawater through the process of evaporation. There are various types of salt available, including table salt, sea salt, and Himalayan pink salt, each with its distinct flavor and texture. In moderation, salt can be a healthy addition to any diet, but excessive consumption can lead to health problems, such as high blood pressure.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
