So, what is β-καροτένιο?
Beta-carotene is a naturally occurring pigment found in many fruits and vegetables, including carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach. It belongs to a group of compounds known as carotenoids, which are converted by the body into vitamin A. Beta-carotene is a potent antioxidant, helping to protect cells from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. It is also thought to have anti-inflammatory properties, and some studies suggest that it may help reduce the risk of certain types of cancer, heart disease, and age-related macular degeneration.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
