So, what is bakteriekultur?
Bakteriekultur is a Danish term that refers to a type of food ingredient commonly used in the production of dairy products such as cheese and yogurt. It is also known as a bacterial culture and is made up of a specific strain or combination of strains of beneficial bacteria that ferment milk and transform it into a tangy, flavorful, and nutritious product. These bacteria break down lactose and other components in the milk, producing lactic acid and other compounds that give dairy products their characteristic texture and taste. Bakteriekultur is an essential ingredient for many traditional dairy products, and its careful selection and use are critical to achieving consistent quality and flavor.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
