So, what is bicarbonat de sodiu?
Bicarbonat de sodiu, also known as baking soda, is a white, crystalline powder with a slightly salty taste. It is a naturally occurring substance that can be found in mineral springs and is commonly used in baking and cooking as a leavening agent. When mixed with acidic ingredients, such as vinegar or lemon juice, it produces carbon dioxide gas, causing doughs and batters to rise. Bicarbonat de sodiu is also used in cleaning and personal care products due to its ability to neutralize odors and its gentle abrasive properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
