So, what is bourrache?
Bourrache, also known as starflower, is a herbaceous plant that is native to Europe and widely cultivated for its culinary and medicinal properties. The plant has bright blue, star-shaped flowers that bloom in the summer, and its leaves and seeds are commonly used in cooking. The leaves have a slightly sweet and cucumber-like flavor and are often used in salads, while the seeds are rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which has anti-inflammatory properties and is used in the production of dietary supplements. Bourrache is a versatile and flavorful ingredient that can add a unique touch to a wide range of dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
