So, what is brandewijn?
Brandewijn, also known as brandy, is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented fruit juice. It is typically made from grapes, but can also be produced from other fruits such as apples or peaches. The name brandewijn comes from the Dutch words "branden" and "wijn", which mean "to burn" and "wine" respectively. This is because the distillation process involves heating the fermented juice to create a concentrated spirit. Brandewijn has a rich, amber color and a complex flavor profile that varies depending on the type of fruit used and the aging process. It is often enjoyed as a sipping drink or used as a flavorful ingredient in cooking and baking.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
