So, what is cacao fat?
Cacao fat, also known as cocoa butter, is a natural fat extracted from cocoa beans. It is a key ingredient in many chocolate products due to its rich, smooth, and creamy texture. Cacao fat has a unique melting point that allows it to quickly melt in your mouth, leaving behind a pleasant and velvety sensation. Besides its use in chocolate, cacao fat is also used in the cosmetic industry as a moisturizer and skin conditioner. Additionally, cacao fat is rich in antioxidants and contains oleic acid, which has been linked to reducing inflammation and improving heart health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
