So, what is cafeine?

Caffeine is a naturally occurring stimulant found in the seeds, leaves, and fruits of certain plants. It is commonly consumed in beverages such as coffee, tea, and energy drinks, and is also found in some medications and dietary supplements. Caffeine works by blocking the action of adenosine, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep and suppresses arousal. This leads to increased alertness, energy, and focus, as well as improved athletic performance and reduced fatigue. While caffeine is generally safe in moderate doses, excessive consumption can lead to jitteriness, anxiety, insomnia, and other negative effects.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like cafeine?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
