So, what is calcium silicate?
Calcium silicate is a white, odorless, and tasteless mineral compound that is commonly used as a food additive. It is made by combining calcium oxide and silica in a carefully controlled process that results in a fine powder with excellent insulation properties. Calcium silicate is used as an anti-caking agent to prevent clumping in powdered foods like spices and seasonings. It is also added to processed cheese to improve its texture and shelf life. In addition to its use in the food industry, calcium silicate is also used as a building material due to its fire-resistant and insulating properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
