So, what is capric acid?
Capric acid, also known as decanoic acid, is a medium-chain fatty acid found naturally in coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and goat's milk. It has a creamy, slightly sweet taste and is often used in the food industry as a flavoring agent, particularly in dairy products, baked goods, and confectionery. Capric acid is also used in cosmetics and personal care products due to its antimicrobial properties. Research suggests that capric acid may have potential health benefits, including improving cognitive function and aiding in weight loss. However, more research is needed to confirm these findings.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
