So, what is cassia?
Cassia is a fragrant spice that is commonly used in a variety of cuisines around the world. It is obtained from the bark of a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia. Cassia has a warm, slightly sweet taste with hints of cinnamon and cloves, making it a popular ingredient in baked goods, curries, and stews. It is also used in traditional medicine for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Cassia is often confused with cinnamon, but it has a stronger and more pungent flavor profile, and its bark is thicker and darker in color.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
