So, what is citronella?
Citronella is a versatile and aromatic grass that belongs to the Cymbopogon family. With its distinctive lemony scent, this ingredient is commonly used in Asian and South American cuisines as a seasoning or herb. Citronella is also well-known for its insect-repelling properties, which make it a popular ingredient in natural bug sprays and candles. When used in cooking, citronella can add a bright, fresh flavor to a variety of dishes, including soups, curries, and marinades. Additionally, citronella oil is often used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation and reduce stress.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
