So, what is dextrosa de trigo?
Dextrosa de trigo, also known as wheat dextrose, is a natural sweetener derived from wheat starch. It is a simple sugar that is chemically identical to glucose, which is the primary source of energy for the body's cells. Wheat dextrose is commonly used as a food ingredient in the manufacturing of baked goods, confectionery, and other processed foods due to its ability to enhance flavor and extend shelf life. It is also used in the production of fermented foods and beverages as a source of sugar for yeast and bacteria. Wheat dextrose is considered a healthier alternative to regular table sugar as it has a lower glycemic index and is more quickly absorbed by the body.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
