So, what is combava?

Combava, also known as kaffir lime, is a small citrus fruit with a distinctive bumpy skin and intense, aromatic flavor. Native to Southeast Asia, combava is widely used in Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cuisine, where its leaves, fruit, and zest are prized for their tangy, citrusy taste and bright, fresh aroma. Combava is often used to add depth and complexity to curries, soups, and marinades, and its juice and zest can be used to flavor drinks, desserts, and baked goods. In addition to its culinary uses, combava is also valued for its medicinal properties, which include anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and antibacterial effects.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like combava?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
