So, what is coral?
Coral is a unique food ingredient that is derived from the exoskeletons of small marine animals. It is harvested from coral reefs located in shallow tropical waters, and is typically found in shades of pink and white. Coral is a rich source of calcium, magnesium, and other trace minerals, making it a popular ingredient in supplements and health foods. In cooking, coral is often ground into a fine powder and used as a natural food coloring or flavoring agent, adding a subtle sweetness to dishes. However, due to concerns over the sustainability of coral reefs, the use of coral in food products has become controversial in recent years.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
