So, what is de au lait?
Dé au lait is a French phrase that literally translates to "of milk." It's a term commonly used in cooking and baking to describe ingredients that have been made with milk or have a milky taste or texture. The most popular usage of this term is in crème brûlée, where it refers to the rich custard base made with egg yolks, cream, sugar, vanilla, and milk. Dé au lait can also be found in other desserts such as flans, puddings, and ice creams. Its creamy and delicate flavor makes it an essential ingredient for creating luxurious and indulgent desserts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
