So, what is de de palme?
Dé dè palme, also known as palm nut cubes, are a popular food ingredient in West African cuisine. These small, cube-shaped pieces are made from the fruit of the oil palm tree, which is native to the region. The fruit is boiled and then the outer layer is removed, revealing the nut inside. The nut is then dried and smoked before being cut into cubes. Dé dè palme have a unique smoky flavor and a slightly chewy texture, and are often used in stews and soups to add richness and depth to the dish. They are a good source of healthy fats and vitamins.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
