So, what is dextrose de?
Dextrose de is a simple sugar derived from cornstarch through a process called hydrolysis. It is a white, crystalline powder with a sweet taste that is approximately 70% as sweet as regular sugar. Dextrose de is commonly used in food and beverage products as a sweetener, as well as in baking to improve texture and browning. It is also used in the production of medical products, such as IV solutions and tablets, due to its ability to quickly raise blood glucose levels. Dextrose de is a versatile ingredient that is easy to work with and adds sweetness to a variety of products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
