So, what is e469?
E469 is a food additive commonly known as sodium caseinate. Derived from milk proteins, it is used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in a wide range of processed foods, including dairy products, soups, sauces, and meat products. Sodium caseinate can improve the texture, taste, and appearance of food while extending its shelf life. It is a versatile ingredient that can also be used to enhance the nutritional value of food by boosting protein content. However, some people with milk allergies or lactose intolerance may need to avoid foods containing E469.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
