So, what is edamame?
Edamame are young, green soybeans that are commonly served as a healthy and nutritious snack or appetizer. Originally from Japan, edamame is a popular ingredient in many Asian cuisines and is becoming increasingly popular in the Western world. They are harvested before they fully mature, which gives them their signature bright green color and tender texture. Edamame is an excellent source of protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them a great addition to any diet. They are often boiled or steamed and served in their pods, which can be seasoned with salt, spices, or other flavors to enhance their delicious nutty taste. Edamame can also be used in a variety of recipes, including salads, stir-fries, soups, and more, making them a versatile and healthy ingredient for any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
