So, what is enthält sorbitol?
Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol that occurs naturally in many fruits and vegetables, and is also commonly used as a low-calorie sweetener in processed foods. It has about half the sweetness of sugar and is frequently used in sugar-free or low-sugar products, such as chewing gum, candy, and baked goods. Sorbitol is also used as a humectant to keep foods moist and to enhance texture. While it is generally considered safe for consumption, excessive intake of sorbitol can cause digestive issues such as diarrhea, bloating, and gas.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
