So, what is ergokalciferol?
Ergocalciferol, commonly known as vitamin D2, is a fat-soluble nutrient that plays an essential role in maintaining healthy bones and teeth. This form of vitamin D is derived from plants and fungi and can be found in fortified foods such as milk, cereal, and orange juice. Ergocalciferol is also available as a dietary supplement and prescription medication to treat or prevent vitamin D deficiency. This nutrient is converted into an active form in the liver and kidneys, which helps regulate calcium and phosphorus absorption and promotes proper bone growth and remodeling.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
