So, what is extraits de malt?
Extraits de malt, also known as malt extracts, are a natural sweetener derived from malted grains such as barley, wheat, or rye. They are created by steeping the grains in water and then allowing the enzymes to convert the starches into sugars. The resulting liquid is then concentrated into a thick syrup or powder. Malt extracts are commonly used in the food industry as a natural sweetener and flavor enhancer in products such as bread, beer, and confectionery. They also provide a source of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
