So, what is farine de soya degraissee?
Farine de soya dégraissée, also known as defatted soy flour, is a high-protein, low-fat ingredient made from ground soybeans that have had the oil extracted. This fine, powdery flour has a mild nutty flavor and can be used as a gluten-free alternative to wheat flour in a wide range of recipes. It is commonly used in vegetarian and vegan cooking to add texture and protein to dishes such as burgers, meatless meatballs, and veggie patties. In addition to being a good source of protein, farine de soya dégraissée is also a rich source of essential amino acids, fiber, and minerals such as iron and calcium.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
