So, what is ferments lactiques.?
Ferments lactiques, also known as lactic acid bacteria, are a group of beneficial bacteria commonly used in food production. These bacteria convert lactose into lactic acid, which gives fermented foods their characteristic tangy flavor and helps preserve them by creating a hostile environment for harmful bacteria. Ferments lactiques are found naturally in a variety of foods, including yogurt, sauerkraut, and sourdough bread. They are also added to many processed foods, such as cheese, pickles, and cured meats, to improve their texture, flavor, and shelf life. Consuming foods rich in ferments lactiques may help improve digestion and boost the immune system.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
