So, what is flour?
Flour is a versatile ingredient that serves as the foundation of many baked goods, such as bread, cakes, cookies, and pastries. It is a finely ground powder made by grinding grains, seeds, or roots into a smooth, homogeneous mixture. Wheat flour is the most common type of flour, but other varieties include rice, corn, oat, and almond flour. Flour contains carbohydrates, protein, and small amounts of fat and fiber. Depending on the type of flour and the baking recipe, different flours can produce varying textures, colors, and flavors.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
