So, what is ghost pepper?

Ghost pepper, also known as Bhut Jolokia, is a fiery-hot chili pepper that originated in India. At over 1 million Scoville heat units, it was once considered the world's hottest pepper. Ghost peppers have a distinct, fruity flavor with a slow burn that can last for up to 30 minutes. These small, wrinkled peppers are often used in spicy dishes such as curries, chutneys, and hot sauces. Due to their intense heat, ghost peppers should be used sparingly and with caution by those who dare to try them.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like ghost pepper?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
