So, what is glycogen?
Glycogen is a complex carbohydrate that serves as the primary storage form of glucose in animals and humans. It is a highly branched molecule that is stored primarily in the liver and muscle tissues. Glycogen provides a readily available source of glucose for the body, which is crucial for energy production during intense exercise and periods of fasting. It also plays an important role in regulating blood glucose levels and maintaining overall metabolic health. Glycogen can be obtained through the consumption of carbohydrate-rich foods or synthesized within the body through a process called glycogenesis.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
