So, what is graines d'anis vert?
Graines d'anis vert, also known as green anise seeds, are a small, oval-shaped ingredient that have a distinct licorice-like flavor and aroma. These seeds are commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as in the production of various liquors, including absinthe and ouzo. Rich in antioxidants, fiber, and essential nutrients like iron and calcium, these seeds are often used to aid digestion, alleviate menstrual cramps, and promote lactation. They can be used whole or ground to add flavor to baked goods, stews, soups, and spice blends.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
