So, what is granos de centeno?
Granos de centeno, or rye grains in English, are small, tan-colored cereal grains with a slightly curved shape. These grains are commonly used to make rye flour, which is then used to create bread, crackers, and other baked goods. Rye grains have a distinctive, earthy flavor that is often described as nutty and slightly sour. They are a good source of dietary fiber, protein, and essential nutrients such as manganese, phosphorus, and magnesium. In addition to their culinary uses, rye grains are also sometimes used in traditional herbal remedies and natural remedies for various ailments.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
