So, what is granos de comino?
Granos de comino, also known as cumin seeds, are a popular spice commonly used in Mexican, Indian, Middle Eastern, and North African cuisine. They have a warm, earthy, and slightly bitter flavor, with a pungent aroma. Cumin seeds are small and oblong-shaped, with a ridged texture, and are typically brown or yellowish in color. They are often toasted or ground before use to release their full flavor, and can be added to dishes such as curries, stews, soups, and marinades. Cumin is also believed to have medicinal properties, with potential benefits for digestion, blood sugar control, and inflammation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
