So, what is guarana?

Guarana is a plant native to the Amazon basin and is well-known for its energizing properties. Its seeds contain high levels of caffeine, which is why it's often used in energy drinks and supplements. Unlike coffee, guarana releases caffeine slowly, providing sustained energy over a longer period of time. Apart from its stimulant properties, guarana also contains antioxidants and has been used for centuries by indigenous communities as a traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments. It has a slightly bitter taste and is often used in powdered form as a natural supplement for improving mental focus and physical performance.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like guarana?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
