So, what is high früctose corn syrup?
High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a sweetener made from corn starch that has been processed to convert some of its glucose into fructose. It is commonly used as a sweetener in processed foods and beverages, including soft drinks, baked goods, and condiments. HFCS is cheaper and easier to use than table sugar, which has led to its widespread use in the food industry. However, it has also been linked to obesity, diabetes, and other health problems, which has led to increasing concerns about its use and calls for alternatives.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
