So, what is hot pepper?
Hot pepper, also known as chili pepper, is a fiery spice that adds heat and depth to a variety of dishes. The small fruit of the capsicum plant ranges in heat from mildly warm to tongue-searingly hot, depending on the variety. Hot peppers contain a compound called capsaicin, which is responsible for the burning sensation they produce. Besides adding flavor and heat to dishes, hot peppers are also rich in vitamins A and C, as well as antioxidants. They are a staple ingredient in many cuisines, including Mexican, Thai, and Indian, and are used to spice up everything from salsa to curry.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
